Today, May 30, 2022, we celebrate Cel Overberghe's 85th birthday with the release of the music played by CO2 on December 10, 2017 at De Studio in Antwerp, including an encore with Joe McPhee and Paal Nilssen-Love.
The concert - part of the Oorstof series produced by Koen Vandenhoudt and Christel Kumpen - marked the 10th anniversary of CO2 and the 80th birthday of Cel Overberghe.

CO2. There are always two sides to a coin.
First: the C and the O are the initials of the name Cel Overberghe - the "2" relates to the fact that with Tom Van Overberghe alongside there are 2 Overberghes in this band.
Second: as a chemical formula CO2 refers to the band as a laboratory. A laboratory of musical 'poisoners', because we love to think outside the box. ... more
